They are a disappointment year after year when the going gets tough. Pile up some points on the PP and everyone thinks everything is great. They disappeared against Florida 2 years ago. No surprise. Pretty bad when guys making next to nothing show up and show more grit.Joke.Matthews and Marner have to do something.
Knies is awesome. Except his name always makes autocorrect change it to 'Knows'.
He's a moose out there.Knies has been carrying that line tonight. He has been impressive.
That seems to be a big difference from previous years - calm down, bend, don't break, get back up and get some chances. Nice push back after the Marchand goal. There was a clip of Bérubé on the bench telling guys to calm down earlier...it worked
Indeed, if they can saw off the special teams battle, they aren't a 5v5 powerhouse.Their main offensive weapons (Tkachuk, Verhaeghe, Reinhart) are mostly injured. Staying out of the box, and not farting around on our own PP opportunities will swing the series in the Leafs’ favour.
Holy hell Jones has taken like 9 penalties in Holmberg this period. Something tells me Colin sent Holmberg's penalties drawn list to the officials
A couple of thoughts:
1. This Leafs team IS different. They are matching Florida's physicality and intensity.
2. OEL is so understatedly good. Cool as a cucumber.
You just know we're gonna get a nonsense call.OK, refs, since you are done working tonight you better not call some chintz in the 3rd.
