The Official Complaint Thread!

My father calls me (at work) saying he can't connect to the internet. I asked if he called Rogers - he did - they told him he had a virus (only took them an hour to determine that).
I run him through a number of things - no way he has a virus. I told him either there are signal problems or his modem has crapped out and told him to call back and say he wants a new modem.
Long story short, he gets someone else at tech support who actually does their job and determines its a signal problem on their end and they open a ticket and will fix it for him.

Not nice to cause a 71 year old, less than tech savvy man to go through such grief, then lie to him just to end a call.

WE ARE SURROUNDED BY MORONS!!!

Your poor Dad!  My husband can write a book on the many telephone calls and issues that he has had with Rogers!  They are unreal sometimes!

On a happy note, he is now back on line - the second person he contacted followed through and made sure all was corrected. My faith is a little restored.

This complaint is about all the jackasses who still use their cellphones while driving, even though it's now illegal to do so here.

It's against the law for a reason, you tools.

Since when has a law stopped people from doing something...

I received a call from Rogers wireless yesterday advising they were calling to "save me money". After the pitch they proposed a change to my plan that would have cost $4 a month more - how does that work? I offered to trade her my shiny nickel for a dollar and told her it would save her money.
"Thank you for choosing Rogers, have a nice day"

Toronto Star called yesterday and offered me 5 weekdays home delivery for free.  I said sure, sign me up.  The Chick THEN said all I have to do is pay for Saturday and Sunday delivery.  I said no thanks, I just want the weekdays, as I leave the country each weekend so would never read them - just send me the 5 weekdays, for free, like she said at the beginning of the call.  We argued back and forth for 10 minutes.  I then said I was just going to ask my wife, who was in the basement, whether we should sign up.  I set the phone down  and let her wait while I went and had a shower instead...  She wasn't still on the line when I came back out 15 minutes later :)  If she's going to deceive me with the free offer, I'm going to make her pay by wasting her time - bitch!

I guess I'm a jackass.  I still talk on the iPhone while driving, and I sometimes check texts at red lights (but not while actually driving).  My bad, I know.

But as long as I see women driving on the 401 each morning in heavy traffic with a smoke AND coffee in one hand (while I assume holding the steering wheel with her knees), and lipstick or eyeliner in the other hand, while looking at herself in the mirror - not having a clue about the traffic around her...  I see this almost every morning...  And they don't get busted for it.  Yeah, me thinks my driving and talking at the same time is far, far less a concern.

The way I see it, that attitude is part of the problem. Instead of nobody but them doing it, and having them stand out more, or taking a stance against them, you opt to join them in creating a hazard. Sure, you're probably far less of a danger than they are, but you're still a danger, and you're still breaking the law.

If bank robbers start to get away with their booty more, will you take it up, because they don't get caught? ;)

I agree Rick, while driving and using a cell phone isn't safe, the things that some others do while driving, is worse.

I'll even admit, at a red light I will check my phone once in a while, or on the highway on a straight away if I'm driving alone and there is no traffic (very minimal traffic in Manitoba, I can go 30 mins easily without seeing a vehicle, during the day, hours without at night and that is on the major highway in the provience too), but I won't spend more then a couple seconds at a time looking at it. If someone is in the car with me, I always let them check/answer any messages on my phone while I'm driving.

When my buddy rode his GSX-R 1100, he would always keep some ceramic from spark plugs in his pocket and if/when he was cut off by someone not paying attention (he was hit twice by drivers), he would throw a little piece of the ceramic at their window.... Smash. heh.
