Anybody else watching (and laughing their heads off at) Brooklyn Nine Nine?

I like it quite a bit, as I think Mike Schur is one of the better writers out there, but I don't know if it's really hit it's stride and made me laugh my head off. The pieces are there though. It's a lot of fun seeing Andre Braugher in a comedic role.

I agree completely.

I can see the potential but I don't think the show has completely found it's place. One thing I do know, they need less of the clerk/secretary. That woman drives me up the wall!

I think she's been less annoying lately, the show has been using her in small doses.  Perhaps realizing that a dash of Chelsea Peretti goes a loooong way.

I find Andy goes between funny and okay.  Meanwhile everyone else is consistently really good and Braugher is lights-out every episode.  That man deserves ALL the Emmys.

I'm only a hand full of episodes in, but I look forward to less of her.

Yeah. The complete, unblinking deadpan thing his character has going on is amazing. Also, Terry Crews is pretty good.

Let's take this to the next level....

Crews - Samberg - Braugher
Beatriz (Rosa) - Fumero (Santiago) - Lo Truglio (Boyle)
[checking line]
Hitchcock - Sully - Peretti (Gina) [facepuncher]

--The checking line will fill out as the series continues and we get more recurring characters
--Samburg is essentially Bozak in this scenario; not considered a true 1C but works well with Braugher and allows Braugher to dominate
--Everyone wants Peretti/Orr out of the lineup but she's under contract

I think Chelsea Peretti is hilarious personally.

Yeah it may just be me. She reminds me so much of a girl I knew growing up and she drove me completely over the edge. I'm sure that has something to do with the cringe factor every time Chelsea Peretti speaks

Actor Russell Johnson, "The Professor" in the 1960s TV sitcom "Gilligan's Island," has died at 89.

This begs the age-old question: Ginger or Marianne?

I'm not sure if anyone watched parenthood - I watch it with my wife to be a good husband. Now, I've never liked this show, but my god this season is just horrible. The writing is lazy, the plots are hokey, each episode that goes by I want to throw my shoe at the TV.

Speaking of which - what the hell happened to How I met your mother? I loved this show, I really did, I felt it hit the right combo of sappiness and comedy - it reminded me so much of my younger single days (well less slapsgiving and such) - but WTF is this season? I've never seen a show go from enjoyable to un-watchable like this. I'm just slogging through this season because I know it's the last, but way to ruin the show there guys.

Agreed. The last few seasons have been pretty weak but this one feels like everyone is just looking at their watches and waiting for their checks to clear.

I understand the good husband thing Joe. I used to watch Once Upon a Time with my wife. I finally got the point where I just had to quit. The wife is now on her own for that one.

They kind of got themselves stuck because of how negotiations with the cast went. They thought last season was going to be the last season for a while, so, they spread things out that way, and then they reached an agreement to do another season, and, well, that left us with the dragged out mess that is this season - though, I thought the most recent episode was pretty good.

The last 3 seasons really, to me, have been awful.  The characters all seem like caricatures of themselves, doing over the top things that the writers think are representative of their characters but it comes off as so forced.  What I loved about the show was that it felt like you were watching some friends hanging out like you would with your friends.  Then they just completely lost the plot and it became less about the story and more about trying to force laughs out.  They have dragged that amazingly unfunny Robin-Patrice thing out so long it's beyond cringe-worthy.

The first 5 seasons are great, it's sad what it is now.  I honestly can't watch it, it bothers me when I do.

I could never really get in to the show.  I watched it and enjoyed it, but it always left me with the feeling that despite being the focus of the show, Ted was the least engaging or likable character on the show.  Obviously if you take away the accompanying cast of any show it would suffer, but I feel like the premise was doomed to failure the longer it played out because you would have to rely on more and more outrageous scenarios to compensate for a main character who was flawed and failed to show any growth over the course of the series.
