Anyone see Top of the Lake?  It's on Netflix, a second season is coming out soon.  Elizabeth Moss from Mad Men stars in it, set in New Zealand.  Won't give too much away, but it has a pretty dark, strange vibe to it.  I think if you watched The Killing season 1 and enjoyed it you would probably enjoy this too.

Good to know, there seems to be a lot of worthwhile series' to watch on Netflix. Haven't yet finished 'The Killing' and was also looking at starting 'Daredevil,' 'Episodes,' and that Gillian Anderson one, among others.

Wet Hot American Summer: First day of camp was all sorts of goodness.

Best show on television right now for my money is Mr. Robot. I'm a sucker for shows on U.S.A (like Burn Notice and Suits) but this show is just legitimately great.

Suits is great.

We've recently started watching Mr. Robot. It's been great so far!

While I really enjoyed it, there were aspects I was disappointed with. I think they provided explanations for things that were better left without, and I think the fact that they had 4 hours to fill instead of the 90 minutes or so that the movie ran took them away from part of what made the movie so great - the manic, over-the-top pace.

Yea I agree, the longer running time probably did add a few storylines that didn't need developing. Overall I was very satisfied and I thought the movie was kind of the same; some great humour with a fair bit of things that didn't work.

American IP address needed? I can't find it on Netflix.

Yeah. Not on Canadian currently. On US, UK and most international versions.

I liked it. It's beautifully shot and though the accent work is...touchy at times I think the performances were strong enough to overcome that. I'm not sure the Holly Hunter stuff ever really paid off though.

It's a bit of a goofy show but I've gotten hooked on orphan black.

I enjoy it, too. It gets goofier, but, that's part of the charm. Also, the guy who plays Scott (the lab assistant) lives in my building, so, I've got that going for me.

I'm wondering if any of you have seen A Young Doctor's Notebook? It stars Daniel Radcliffe and John Hamm. It's a very dark comedy about a young doctor (Radcliffe) in a Russian village in the early 20th century. There were only 2 seasons, 4 episodes each. Some of it is disturbing - Radcliffe spends the good part of an afternoon trying to amputate/saw off a young girl's leg, but quite funny.

Actually - I'd never heard of this... We didn't have first choice growing up. Actually, I remember going to the scrambled first choice channel, noticing it was star wars and messing around with the fine tuning TV dial to try and de-scramble the screen, and holy crap was my dad ever pissed.

Ha!  That's funny.

If you didn't see Outtakes in the 80s, you must watch Kung Fury, completely in the style of 80s cheese action TV/movie.  Awesomely entertaining 31 minute movie.  Graphic violence and language warning.

Ah sorry about that! Sometimes forget which one I'm signed in to when I watch something.

On another, non-Netflix note: has anyone been watching Show Me a Hero from HBO?

Haven't see this show, but it looks like a pretty good cast. I'll watch most things HBO and SHO... is this one any good?
