Komarov-Lombardi,

Leafs need a centre more than a goalie... good lord..

I'm telling you, I would take on Lecavalier before Luongo.

You know what this team needs....? Getzlaf and Perry. I have been wanting Getzlaf for a couple of years and waiting for this July to come. One can always hope.

well, realistically, chances are remote this would happen, but I think even less so without Burke.

money is money and the Leafs have plenty to offer - also Perry lives not far from Toronto and would be a much bigger star here than in California. They both won a Cup with Carlye. Like I said, one can always hope...... more often than not, that is all we have in Toronto.

plus murray went on the record recently saying that he will do anything in his power to sign both of them.

I guess the only advantage that TO has is that Perry is from peterborough so maybe he wants to come home?

Edit: although maybe Bobby Ryan becomes available if both of those guys get bigtime deals?

Hell no to Lecavalier. I also think realistically we have enough scoring, we need Getzlaf, not necessarily Perry (who Kessel outscoredast year I might add). Basically we need that workhorse centre on the first line, close to franchise player, and Getzlaf could fit the bill after a bad season last year. I think we could also bring in another player Gary Roberts style to replace MacArthur on Grabbos line to make it tough to play against.

Its odd, we have such a glut of random, half decent, depth forwards. There just has to be a trade coming.

If Nonis can bring in Getzlaf I will be ecstatic.  After years of disappointments and never getting the "big name", i'm not holding my breath.

We would have to severely overpay for that player we are all looking for. Unless we get him in free agency, I doubt we trade for him, without gutting our team. It's a hard deal to make, which is why it hasn't been done already.

At the same time I think we can make that trade. He's on the final year of his contract and I dont think they can afford both Getzlaf and Perry.

If we can work out an agreement where we can trade and sign Getzlaf I say we do it.

Kessel - Getzlaf - Lupul is a good first line that well have for a number of years. I'm just worried about Lupul. By the time we become.competitive he's going to be in his 30s. Might be an issue for a guy with medical history like himself.

Still, we would be significantly closer to contending with Getzlaf than without him, and I'm not sure we could pull a deal for a Sundin type at 23 like we did back in the day ever again.

I think Bobby Ryan would get traded out of Anaheim, before Perry and Getzlaf, but that's me. In the end, I think I'd have to see the deal proposed and what it meant for our team, to really make a judgement. But trading for that player would be awfully expensive.

Getting away from speculation for the moment....

Reimer is 10-15 lbs. lighter and says he is feeling great. If he can play like he once did that will make a huge difference.

The Leafs apparently have a couple of new slogans on the dressing room wall. They are "Burn the Boats" and "Make Today Count".

If only it were as simple as a catchy slogan.

I thought it was "draft-smaft" or "retooling not rebuilding"?
