That's sweet. I really like that it comes with the pen (about $60) and built-in storage for it. And you found your number pad!

Yep, just awaiting a quote on this one, and the Acer that Deebo mentioned.  I'm trying to keep this under $2500.

A limited series podcast I'd recommend:  The Shrink Next Door.  It's a true story told in 8 episodes that I think is better listened to without first knowing what it's about.

Quoting an old post here since I listened to it based on your recommendation.

Paul Rudd and Will Ferrell are starring in an upcoming series based on this.

I also just listened to it and enjoyed it a lot so thanks HS/Deebo.
FYI, there's a new Shrink Next Door episode.

I'm still also recommending the Wind of Change limited series podcast, about the investigation by Patrick Radden Keefe into rumours that the CIA had been involved in the creation of the Scorpions' song "Wind of Change" as a cultural catalyst for the fall of the Berlin wall and the USSR.

Insane videos doing the rounds on social media of a large explosion in Beirut

The Shock wave must of been intense. This is absolutely horrible.

Oh man, this port is like downtown Beirut, so those surrounding buildings are all residences and businesses. COVID has already swamped their hospitals. This is quite bad.

It's amazing me that they're reporting only around 100 deaths. Obviously that could rise but the size of the explosion I was expecting hundreds if not thousands

I work in the explosive industry. If that explosion contained 2700 tonnes of AN, they should count themselves extremely lucky that the damage was not worse.

So I didn't know how many tons are in pounds. That is roughly 5.4million pounds. How do you have that many pounds of fertilizer?

It was confiscated from a ship 6 years ago and had since sat in storage without any appreciable safety measures despite numerous reports and warnings.

AN is the main ingredient in ANFO which is used as an high energy explosive in mining. It is also a big part of most other explosives.

It certainly is a lot of AN at approximately 2.7 million kgs of the stuff. The people that were aware of this product sitting and did nothing should be held fully responsible.

Just crazy that this stuff was stored in the city and not taken to a remote area. What really pisses me off is within moments of the incident, Trump is saying it was a bombing when it turns out it was probably a Welding incident. Why can't this man just keep his mouth shut.

That plays like some kind of cut scene from Call of Duty or Rainbox Six. So surreal.

Way back in 2000 when I signed up for my original penaltybox account I took my name from the character Deebo from the movie Friday, played by this guy.

I did not know that.

Nollaig shona duit* to everyone. It?s been a long, strange year. And this Christmas as well continue that theme. I hope everyone can enjoy the next couple of days and safely catch up with family if at all possible.

*Merry Christmas in Irish
