Who do you put in though, man? I said in another thread that maybe Jarnkrok or Dewar could provide something, but right now even Robertson is providing nothing. At least Reaves can forecheck a bit, right? He's only a minus 2 in 9 games, and has only taken 6 PIMS. I don't know what Chief is planning on with that bottom 6, but I'm hoping it gets clearer with Dewar and Jarnkrok coming back in for Reaves and Homberg?

Reaves isn't doing anything on the forecheck. Robertson is a -+2 over that same stretch so is giving up fewer goals against when on the ice than Reaves. Mr atmosphere did nothing for the team playing differently. Matthews showed more response than Reaves for liberty taken with Marner. Where the hell was Reaves the rest of the game....doing nothing because he's useless and doesn't prevent anything

Honestly, and I know it won’t happen, but someone like Grebyonkin. (He probably is better off learning NA hockey in the AHL I guess)

Overall I’d change up the whole mix of the bottom 6 though tbh, moving out Kampf for something else for that 4th line centre
 
Call up Alex Nylander and let Alex replace either Pacioretty or Tavares once in a while.....which ever oldster needs to take a break for a game or two. This will provide load management for these guys and spark some life into the line when they rest.

Alex would need to be signed to an NHL deal first
 
This is the Leafs third back to back with road travel against a rested team and we are four weeks into the season. I don't understand how the scheduling can be this bad

Say it again. They don't have much on the farm thanks to Dubas selling off assets every year. Cowan wasn't ready. Minten I think will play but bottom six has always been an issue. What do you expect when you try and fill the bottom 6 each year with scrubs and no cash to spend. Until Tavares comes off the books and you have some money to spend this year will be no different than any other.

Matthews needs to shoot the flipping puck

. They were looking for the pass down low to front of the net and because the Leafs did nothing to get the defenders moving it was easy to cover Tavares and Knies in front of the net.

It's like they have a plan to do one specific move and if it isn't there they freeze as if they can't adapt
 
Simpson actually nailed it for once, they moved the puck but never opened up any shooting lanes.
