Ovechkin on an 82-game pace for 50 goals.  Milbury would've traded him.

It's amazing how quiet people are being about his performance. I know a lot of it has been recent so there might be more of a spotlight on him down the stretch, but the guy is tied for 2nd in goals now (assuming Tavares doesn't score tonight).

It must be tough to coach Ovie (see Hunter, Oates etc.) but if you decide to unleash him, oh boy... Alex hardly fits into any system. He needs a coach like Pat Quinn and he would score 60 again easily.

And good for Ovechkin. I'm not his biggest fan but it was sad to see him reduced to a 30 goal/60 point guy.

Just read this, but when was this true?  He put up 65 pts last season, but scored 38 goals.

He has another goal so far tonight.

Finished with 2 - tied with Stamkos for league lead at 25.

Tied for the league lead??!!?!? That's pathetic!

The old Ovechkin would have out scored the rest of the league by a dozen goals or more!

Yadda yadda yadda... Thanks for proving once again that Mike Milbury is an imbecile.

@NHL: Since picking up his 666th win, Martin Brodeur is 0-3-4, which is the longest winless streak of his career. #NJDevils

Crazy

I don't think Milbury was wrong when he assessed Ovechkin as just going through the motions. At the time, that's exactly what he was doing. Perhaps Milbury's comments lit a fire under him.

Noope.

Among the highlights:

? Ovechkin ?failed? the superstar test ?miserably? with ?an awful display of hockey? and ?should be ashamed of himself.

? ?Eight year olds don?t do this in the offensive zone.?

? Ovechkin acted ?like a baby? in trying to draw a penalty. ?This is ridiculous embellishment. He should be embarrassed by this and so should his teammates. That is silly. Get up and act like a man, for god?s sake.?

? He doesn?t move enough on the wall.

? He doesn?t backcheck.

? And he had the nerve to go off on a line change during a Flyers? goal.

? Milbury called his play "inacceptable" which ISN'T EVEN A WORD.

This came after 5 pts in 2 games for Ovechkin, too.

Why would I respond to somebody who has me on their ignore list?

To the list you go!

Do you not see the inherent contradiction in me replying to you if you were actually on an ignore list?  Would that be considered ignoring?

;D

I have been enjoying how many people haven't caught on yet....

Heard the other day that only Lemieux, Bossy and Bure have a higher Goals-Per-Game rate than Ovechkin.

He was also the 6th youngest to 300 goals and did it in the 7th fewest games. All the guys ahead of him on both lists are Hall of Famers and household names.

Milbury isn't alone. I know a guy who continually calls OV "washed up" because he hasn't hit 50 goals in a couple of seasons now.

I know he rubs a lot of people the wrong way but he isn't just a good goal scorer, he is going down in history as one of he greatest.
