Georgiev off the board; that's more than I expected

A Francouz/Georgiev seems pretty underwhelming for a Cup contender, but I guess gives them more cap space up front.

Interesting. Maybe negotiations with Kuemper aren't going so well.

Avs won with less then average goaltending...they'll be fine.

wow

Even if it meant taking his full contract with no retention, Buffalo going from 16 to 7 would have been a massive W for them.

I'd be curious to see what Kuemper's asking price will be. He's a very good goalie who I think doesn't necessarily have the reputation of being a top goalie. And despite winning the Cup his stats weren't amazing (although he did outplay Vasilevskiy in the Finals despite apparently barely being able to see because of that R3 injury) so that too much prevent his reputation from rising as much as other Cup winning goalies have.

I'd be hard-pressed to say the Avs got less than average goaltending considering how the majority of goalies performed in the playoffs this season. Kuemper's numbers were hurt by a couple bad performances in a small sample size. Outside of those games, he was above average to good - 2 or fewer goals in 8 of the 14 games he didn't leave due to injury. Only allowed more than 3 goals twice.

And, during the regular season, his numbers were excellent.

5th best save percentage in the league. 2nd best (to Shesterkin of course) from January 1st and on. Obviously playing on Colorado can impact that as we've seen with Grubauer, but Kuemper has had comparable seasons with Arizona too.

Friedman and Dreger both tweeting Keumper will hit the market. No cap space in COL.

Dreger adding that Kuemper will be looking for something similar to Grubauer's Seattle deal (6x5.9M)

F.

I?ll go further?FFS
Why do we care? He hasn't been a good goalie in a while now.

He won the V?zina last season!
I really consider that an outlier and he's going to be 38 in November. I don't see why he'd ever be an answer for the Leafs.
