Time for teams to throw money around! Feel free to give any major moves its own thread.

I used to really like Severson but this contract feels insane.

And Severson, a defense-optional defenseman, is going to commit long term to a team that hires Babcock/Tortorella as coaches.

If this comes to fruition, Columbus is really loading up on their D this offseason.

Acquisition cost is reasonable - basically, paying a 3rd round pick to get an extra year on a UFA deal.

Contract itself . . . not great.

Two decently big acquisitions for Columbus.  They are over the cap now come the regular season when Werenski comes off LTIR

That's a lot of change on defense with Werenski, Provorov and Severson

Not exactly a super noteworthy signing but something like this makes it even crazier that Kampf is apparently looking for $3mil on his next contract.

Also always kinda funny to bring up how Derek Ryan was Toronto's back-up plan if Tavares didn't sign here in 2018.

With the rising cap, this feels like a steal. He has topped out at 73 pts so far, so it's about 1M per 10 pts.

Nylander on track for 8x9M+ if he wants to sign 8 years (which I think he should do given his next contract start age).

Come on Willy, you know you wanna do $8.8mil AAV...

By Bratt's logic Willy would end up with 8x11M, which uh...

Meanwhile, Justin Holl can't even get a cap hit at his number.

Hischier, Bratt and Hughes locked up for 23.125M for the next four seasons.

Matthews, Marner, Nylander at 29.5M for the next 1 season.

Last year: 105/146/251 vs. 110/161/271

Hopefully we can get reasonable extensions.

That Jack Hughes extension was wild. I don't know what his agent was thinking signing it just 2 months into his 3rd (and eventually breakout) season.

Kampf is looking for $3M??  That can't be real, that's a hard no and you walk away.

Is it okay to put reverse-signings here?

They were 1 year from getting out from under Loui Eriksson's deal.

Since that trade they have missed the playoffs twice and now today they have

2022/23: 146k
24: 2.35M
25: 4.76M
26: 4.76M
27: 2.13M
28: 2.13M
29: 2.13M
30: 2.13M
31: 2.13M

In dead unmovable cap hit and 3 years of Connor Garland. They gave up #9 OA in the 2021 draft and #47 OA in last years draft for that.

Maybe they can recoup some of the draft picks they gave up if they can move Garland this summer.
