There’s that, and moving Knies for Rantanen doesn’t address any of the Leafs’ needs. He doesn’t play C, he’s not a potential partner for Rielly, and moving him for Knies doesn’t add depth to the Leafs attack.

He actually has 126 FW this year and 275 the last season.

Anyway, why would he commit to anyone if not CAR? I expect him to stay in CAR for the playoffs and to test free agency. He may even sign in CAR as a UFA.

Those are wingers who sometimes take face offs numbers. Not even 4 per game last year. Around 2 per this year.

Why not? The leafs pretty much propelled them to decade of dominance with 2 horrific trades. They kinda owe the leafs.

There was a Bill Zito quote a while back...can't remember where I heard it...but paraphrasing - It's hard to win every talent trade because sometimes you need a triangle for your puzzle, and you've only got squares to trade. The square should be worth more, but triangles are scarce right now...so you trade your square for a triangle.

I think you only do Schenn with retention.

Only 2 things I see better with Schenn is speed and maybe a bit more grit other than that nothing. Having said that I'm not a fan of 7 million for 3 years of JT.

He won a cup. I think that's about it. If you win a cup You get artificially inflated for the rest of your career.
