Game 38 - Toronto Maple Leafs @ Winnepeg Jets L3-2

I wish I knew why this team can't win.  Then I could be coach.  Very frustrating to see the rebuilding Sens in a playoff spot and the Leafs are now out.

I guess the Leafs are rebuilding too

At least the Leafs played 60 minutes, which is more than I can say for a lot of their recent games. I thought we controlled the play for a big chunk of the game and could have won this, had it not been for penalties.

Not trying to be sarcastic but it'll sound like it.......the Leafs, or any other team cannot play penalty-free....so.....I hate "moral" victories - not that you called it that.

Well, they need a lot more help killing them. I don't think the Leafs took a bunch, just dumb ones.

I'll tell you what: Brian Burke has many strong points as GM but he is vastly overrated and his stubbornness will be his downfall.  No GM worth his salt would have rewarded a coach who has presided over one of the worst PKs in the league since day one of his arrival.  Thank God we're out finally out of a playoff spot so that even that flimsy excuse won't be available to either of them.

Lamajama I never watched the game as I was out. Posted as to how the game went, but outshot 28-12 after 2 doesn't sound like we played for 60 minutes.

I thought the leafs were almost rebuilt.

This is low, this team has pissed me off to the point of shutting them off untill I see a head line saying they have just won there 6th game in a row, to put them back in 6th place. >:(

Another loss atributed to the PK.  What will Wilson have to say about the PK this time?  What a joke this coaching staff is.
They killed off all the legit penalties.

I really don't know what to think of this game.

Did the Leafs play great? no, but they didn't play badly either. There were periods where they were a threat, especially 5 on 5.

Winnipeg had some moments but weren't all that good. They were fortunate to get so many PP's.

The Franson call was a travesty. The Crabb one was questionable and the Connolly one was justified but at that point was mystifying.

I'll give this one to the Refs.

Funny how Talon turns Florida into a very good team in 1 year while in year 4 Burke's team is still awful.

I don't want to get on the coaching train, but alot of people are saying that Dineen is the coach of the year.

This is the worst the reffed game ive ever seen.

Ever.

I only saw the third period and it was beyond rediculous.

The leafs played a very disciplined game but were called 2, maybe 3 (It looked like Dion's hi sticking penalty was the jets players own stick that hit himself, could be wrong about that though) times for bogus infractions.

You know McFate we're on the same page. Said it before the friendship between the 2 is going to kill us. I have been happy with most of Burke's trades, and quite frankly has robbed other GM's but your right his stubborness or what I think is his closeness to Ron is doing nothing for this team. I haven't seen much improvement in any area since Wilson took over and the players have changed so I think it was time for Ron to go but no Brian gives him the extension. Can't figure it out at all.

Hey we started 2011 not in a playoff spot and we ended 2011 not in a playoff spot. This franchise is a model of consistency at least!  :P

Here's hoping for a better 2012!

I think a GM should respect and support his coach (duh) but being best pals is a recipe for disaster, and we're seeing it come true.

Don't know what Wilson has said in the post game BS chat but if he goes anywhere near "out played them 5 on 5" etc etc I'll puke. If he's really peed off we blew another one at least he might understand what's going on.

Well AZ we actually played not too bad 5 on 5 but as usual couldn't prevent PP goals for the life of us. Same old same old.
