How is his situation worse than Luongo's? Has Anaheim signed a younger sniper that will displace him, therefore making him unnecessary on the team?

Now, he may be available(as is 95% of the league) but not for cheap.

Ryan has been more vocal about his displeasure with his name constantly being in trade rumours and the perception that the Ducks feel he's expendable - and, from the way he expressed things, it doesn't sound like the team has done much to help change that perception.

Has he been vocal lately?

They got a new coach, and he's still disgruntled?

The most recent rant, so to speak, was around the same time as the draft, so well after they brought in Boudreau.

The last rant was a few days before the draft, so yes, long after the new coach.

I'd think that in order to pry him out of Anaheim though, it would take a highly skilled forward or two, a top prospect(see Kadri, Colbourne, Blacker or god forbid, even Gardiner going back), and  at least a 1st rounder. Now personally, I think it's worth it, unless Gardiner was included as I personally believe he's the quarterback on this team's d core for years to come.

One question though, why would a team be so dissatisfied with a guy who puts up 30 goals year after and only seems to be getting better and better?

I don't think they are, but, after's Ryan's very public outburst, there's a lot of potential for a really uncomfortable situation if he's not moved. I'm not sure they can have him in the locker room after the way he criticized the team.

Now, was he not asked the questions because of the constant rumours surrounding him?

My question is, why were there so many rumours about him? I see it as one of either two things:

1)Ryan is a cancer and the team was/is trying to move him

2) Somebody in the media was having a slow day and started making sh*t up and before he could real it in, everyone knew about it.

If it's #1, is he worth it?

If it's #2, Why didn't Anaheim deny the rumours? And with them not denying it, I don't really blame Ryan for saying "get me the heck outta here.

Reading Courier-Post reporter Randy Miller's incendiary interview with Ryan from a charity golf tournament on Friday, it felt like a point of no return.
From the Courier:

"I take things personally," Ryan said. "Anaheim to me has been a team over the past year that really has shown me nothing to prove that they want me here, unfortunately. Obviously, it's not the ideal situation. When you get drafted, you want to win championships with that team and every time they look to add a piece to the puzzle, I'm the piece going the other way."

"I gotta be honest with you. At this point, I don't care. Move me ... because it's just tough going to the rink every day knowing that if something goes wrong, you're going to be the guy moved."

He and his dad also said he would prefer to play for the Flyers.

Yes I realize he had said the above statement. I believe it was a day or two prior to the draft this year. But I personally think this came from being rumoured to be moved for the last year and a half.

It still doesn't answer the question:

Does Ryan want out or does Anaheim want him out?

Is he a cancer in the dressingroom? Is his dad too involved ala Lindros? What's the deal? Something stinks here.

Eklund is reporting the Leafs in on last day talks to get Evander Kane from Winnipeg before the CBA expires at midnight. Ok... it's Eklund.. but at least it's a trade rumour and not contract talks.  ??? ???

If you keep going to his website, he will keep making crap like that up to draw you there.  I recommend you configure your parental controls to make the site off limits.

He must be pretty desperate to get some traffic to his site today, because, once the lockout starts, it's gonna dry up for him.

I partly think that is why they are having a lockout.  To get rid of eklund.

It's been a long quiet summer... the JVR trade only lasts for so long... I  weakened....  ;D

I reckon the rest of us fans will grow weak as well the longer the lockout continues. ;)

Why not visit the site and discuss it?  Not sure if this is crap or not - ask the British Bulldog, he'd love it if the Leafs made a deal for Kane.  But again, the rumours section is designed to discuss the merits of potential Leaf deals, so why not?

my first thought when I saw this thread title last year was a picture in my head of bozak making a timmie's run for the management's coffee and bagel order!

It's funny that in the opening post, I cited an article from LeBrun that has Bozak and or Gunnarsson leaving in trade. These two are now rumoured as a price for you know who. Nonis using depth to go shopping?
