Official Ottawa Senators Thread

I don't understand how a team like Ottawa, having only five players with more points then Cooke, can say he doesn't belong in the league.  Watching the replay, it looks like Cooke is trying to pin Karlsson to the boards by holding out his leg.  IMHO, the skate came down with no intention of causing injury.

What I can't understand is how the law doesn't legislate that players have to wear proper protective equipment.  This, like any other workplace accident should be investigated.  Result?  All players should be mandated to wear kevlar socks or some other protective device.  Someone mentioned Brian Berard.  Facemasks should be mandatory.  Having worked in orthotics, I know knee injuries can be prevented as well.  Thankfully I deal with the Ministry of Labour to help keep all of us safe and sound.

Whoa geez, check out the highlights to this one.  On the PK, Alfredsson pokes the puck to center.  Silfverberg gets it and is chased to the corner, where the Rangers d falls down.  He then skates untouched from the boards at the goal line and backhands it over Lundqvist.

Been watching hockey 20+ years, don't ever remember a sideways breakaway.

Ha.  And now Kreider slides into Anderson.  Andy stays down for a long time before being helped off the ice, putting no weight on his right foot.

The silver lining is tthe Sens no longer have any key players to be hurt.

I couldn't help but relish in the Karlsson and Spezza injuries but this is getting ridiculous.

Krusty?

Anderson.  Pffft, I'm sure they can pick up another 1.57, .950 goalie somewhere.

Yeah I know, I was just suggesting that Krusty needs to get hurt next and their season is complete.

:) way to put a positive spin on things! Awesome :)

The very definition of a goalie stealing a game.  Sens suck for a solid 65 minutes and come away with a win, thanks to a 44 save effort by Bishop.

Trade value ramping back up.

The family and the very gracious Bert and Mr. Melnyk two weekends ago at Bert's Bar;

I've missed a few haircuts. Truth be told, I donate it to those with cancer (I'm working on my second donation.) It's something of a mess, isn't it? Anyway, I think it took stones to walk into his joint like that, don't you? - Not little girl-like at all!  :P

Nice pic! I've been there too - saw the season opener against the Habs in 2010. Didn't really think to bring my jersey on the trip, though.

Hope you enjoyed your trip. :)

Loved it! I've been before but this was my first time meeting Melnyk... I even got to meet the lovely woman at the other end of their twitter account who made a point of coming in to meet me. - We had/have been exchanging pleasant unpleasantries (Leafs/Sens stuff) on twitter for a while so it was nice to meet... She even bought be a Banks!

Sens trade a 6th to Minnesota for Matt Kassian.

Matt Kassian is a useless goon and a chudmuffin.  He's a jackass who trademarked the nickname "Kassassin", then had people contact twitter users referring to Zack Kassian as "Kassassin", telling them to stop.

Screw this donkey scrotum, I hope he joins the rest of our team on the IR and never suits up.

Apparently he cleared waivers about a month ago too.

Not that a 6th round draft pick is anything special, but the sens could have claimed him on waivers for nothing about a week ago.

edit: well, almost a month ago. I guess that's not as bad.
