Official Ottawa Senators Thread

Outshot 34-14.  Bishop 3-0 in shootouts, keep upping your trade value, buddy.

In other news, Daugavins waived and Dziurzynski sent down.  Trade coming?

Eugene Melnyk just told PrimeTime Sports that MCooke intentionally hurt EKarlsson and he is in the midst of a forensic study to prove it.

Oh man oh man. This is too good. How on earth did this guy get to where he is?

What a loon.  But he is the best kind of owner; the rabid fandom of a preteen combined with deep pockets and the wisdom to stay away from hockey operations (for the most part).

I don't know.  This bit is pretty loony.  Expect to see MVP lined up on the ice next year (Most Valuable Primate).

Can he play left wing?

He said he's going to bring his results to the league.

I just want you all to know that I'm hard at work collecting forensic DNA evidence to prove, once and for all, that Spezza is a buck tooth gomer.

Not forensic, but I'll add this as a potential exhibit for you:

I know we as Leaf fans are likely to believe Carlyle should receive Jack Adams consideration, but geez, this has to be a slam dunk for MacLean. Can't help but respect what he has done. Practically every other team losing ones' #1 centre, d-man and goalie would be crippling.

I point to this team when people suggest coaching isn't that big a deal and a coach is only as good as the players on the ice.

I can't pretend that I'm watching a ton of Senators games but I don't know if you can attribute too much of a team's save percentage, which is really where the Sens are killing it, to the coach.

You're probably right, even if they had Ron Wilson as coach this Sens team would be killing it.

I don't know if that's sarcastic or not but Wilson's respective records in San Jose and Toronto do lend some weight to the coaching theory you're not too fond of.

Seems like Spezza's condition isn't improving as they hoped.  He still isn't skating, and probably won't be back during the regular season.
From what I can figure out from Murray and Moustache's cryptic comments, it seems Anderson is healthy, but his game isn't.  Won't play for the next three games at least.  For what its worth, Fat Garrioch says he's still going down gingerly in practice.

In more positive news, it seems like Jared Cowen is making a miraculous recovery.  He's taking part in full practices, and says he's aiming to play this year.  About a month ago, Murray said there is 0 chance he plays this.season, and he and Moustache are still being cautious with him.
