Official Ottawa Senators Thread

Speaking of miraculous recoveries....

@RenLavoieRDS: Erik Karlsson should be back in Senators line up between 3 to 4 weeks if rehab goes well. #RDS

Call off the forensic investigators Gene.

They're probably looking uncomfortably over their shoulders right now. Isles move into a tie with a win tonight, and if Winnipeg hangs on against Buffalo, they would be only 2 pts behind in 9th. They aren't a lock by any means as long as they keep up their poor play.

Jared Cowen was told he had to wait 6-8 months to recover, and that there was a 0% chance he plays a game this season.  He returned in 5 months, and in his first period back, he destroyed Jeff Skinner, bloodied an opponent in a fight, and earned his team a PP for an instigator penalty.  Welcome back.

Granted the fight was against Chad LaRose, who gives up 9 inches and 50 pounds to Cowen.

In other news, huge respect to Chad LaRose for stepping up for his teammate, ignoring the risk to his own personal health.  Gotta love guys like that.

How does a dude end up with a name like Chad LaRose?

Bryan Murray says Karlsson is 100% & just needs to get back into game shape.

Ooookay then.

How does he come back from a torn achilles in 2 months?  And what's the status of Melnyk's forensic investigation?

Melnyk says he's not commenting on Cooke until all the data has been compiled.

I figured at some point he'd say something like: "there's no investigation, I was just upset when I made that comment."  Now, I can't wait to see what kind of lunacy he comes up with.

I really hope there's venn diagrams.

I really hope it involves a Spartan at centre ice.

Sens vs. Pens in the first round of the AHL playoffs.  Very real possibility of Sens vs Pens in the first round of the NHL playoffs too.

Wonder how often something like that happens.

Are you choking?  ;) :)

Jets won. Sens lost. Jets one point behind. Sens have game in hand but must win all three (@Wsh, Phi, @Bos) in regulation or OT to win the tiebreaker. Might get interesting.

If the Sens win all 3 of their remaining games, the tiebreaker won't matter. Any situation that see the 2 teams tied in points at the end of the season favours Winnipeg, because the only way the Sens can clinch the tiebreaker makes it impossible for there to be a tie.

Sens are in trouble, the only easy game is Philly.

They play the red hot Capitals and the big bad Bruins.

Winnipeg and Washington will decide tonight the 3rd and 8th place, a win by the Jets push the Sens out of the dance (with a game in hand), the very next Sens game is in Whashington.

Jets and Sens can push the Capitals out.

Good that a team from Ontario is falling late in the season and is not Toronto!
