Official Ottawa Senators Thread

This is an older Bobby Ryan article, but one I thought Sens fans would enjoy

Incredible story of human strength and character.  There are plenty of Bobby Ryan type stories out there on family turmoil, both male & female, but coming from such a young perspective and view simply makes it all the more compelling, especially when taking into account Bobby Ryan's personality.

There was also a pretty good story in this month's addition of Sportsnet Magazine.

Zibanejad gets cut, is this a cap move or did he just not make the team?

It's a little bit of both probably. He fell out of the teams top-12 forwards, and instead of keeping him on the team they decided to go with a 22-man roster. The move also comes a few days after Melynk apparently said that the team was over budget at $52mil (3rd lowest payroll in the league).

He was also their only waiver eligible forward that was on the cusp of the roster, so that made the decision a little easier. He'll probably be back if they make a move.

Karlsson looks better than pre Matt Cooke...really liked what I saw from line 2 <MacArthur / Turris / Conacher>...Anderson sparkled. Tomorrow is the important one

Too many power plays given out to the opposition...the Sens are the league's most short-handed team, 38 time so far this season (the Philly Flyers are second worst).

Senators' coach Paul MacLean has called for more discipline, the lack of it that plagues his team right now.

Is Bobby Ryan injured?

Just saw it on Sportsnet. He banged post, but came back and finished game.

Taylor Hall, on the other hand, appears to be injured.

Yea, Hall left the game and didn't return, knee injury apparently, figures I have him in my hockey pool at work lol

Hopefully can find a bit more consistency after Wed's performance against Det. This team can challenge for the East if it brings it

I know the Leafs give up a ton of shots, but what's up with Ottawa? Isles had 57 shots last night!?

Their best defenceman doesn't really play defence. The rest of their blue line is old and slow or young and prone to mistakes. Also, Anderson is back to being only human and they don't have the most defensively responsible group of forwards, either.

Exactly - they are a bunch of over-rated pathetic losers!
