Wait, so Shark Week is 1 hour every night?  Wtf?

I've never really followed it before but wanted to check it out this year and all my guide shows me is 1 stinkin program every night from 8-9.  Is this really what people get worked up for?  I figured a solid 3-4 hours each night.

It used to be better than that. It used to be more.

Yeah, I was surprised to see the reduction. Sucks. Nevertheless, I still love what's there. I've only had time to watch Sunday's stuff (PVRing the rest.)

Anyone watch the Raonic/Gasquet match last night? I only ask because it featured one of the worst announcers I have ever heard. It was from the ATP Cincinnati tournament but I can't find any info online about who was broadcasting.

Been watching the seasons of Arrested Development through again.  I don't think any show comes close for repeated viewings.

This is cool to see how many you caught before: http://splitsider.com/2012/08/53-arrested-development-jokes-you-probably-missed/

I have been doing the same thing the past few weeks. The show is simply amazing. There are some subtle jokes that are absolutely laugh out loud funny. For all the garbage on TV these days and this show ran for two seasons then got cancelled? Glad its making a come back.

Very excited that the new season is being filmed now and will air some time next spring on Neflix.  Steve Holt!

Watched the season finale of The Newsroom last night. Best show on TV.

Not sure about best show on TV (Breaking Bad), but it's pretty darn good. People seem to either love it or hate it though.

I think that's probably always going to be the case when something is overtly political in the states. Sorkin certainly isn't afraid of being didactic as possible when it comes to his views on America and lots of people seem incapable of looking past that.

I watched some of it and I thought, like everything Sorkin does, it was balanced with stuff I really liked(the dialogue, the overtness of his message) with stuff I don't(a certain tone deafness when it comes to writing women/relationships, a penchant for jingoism that is fairly obnoxious regardless of where you stand politically). Overall there was enough good to keep me interested.

See I can't really give a review of Breaking Bad. I have the 1st season ready to go on my harddrive but fell asleep during the first episode and haven't gotten back to it with watching Game of Thrones and The Newsroom. With both finished, perhaps I'll get back to it and see what everyone is raving about.

Breaking bad finale was good. Only 8 episodes and now i have to wait until next summer?

Game of thrones doesn't start up again until march...

ARGHHHHHHH

Season 4 of 'Arrested Development' is up to 13 episodes from 10. When can I get excited?

Sons of Anarchy was crazy, can't believe they are showing some of the stuff they are, usually only HBO and Showtime get away with that.

Yup, that was bananas, poor Tig.

Good interview with Mitch Hurwitz about the revival of Arrested Development: http://www.vulture.com/m/2012/09/mitch-hurwitz-on-reviving-arrested-development.html

I just love the writing on that show. Most thought the Season 5 would be all about Clay and Jax tied into the Cartel/Irish deal but after the first ep there's about 5 storylines set up!

You guys inspired me. I pulled my Arrested Development DVDs off the shelf and spent the weekend watching them.

I don't particularly want to sign up for Netflix but............
