Here's a new one. Apperently Bryzgalov was forced to repaint the Yoda on his helmet. It's not easy being green...

Hah...a reasonable request from LucasFilm I think to go ahead and use it but get it right.

Habs lose.

Marc Staal just took a nasty shot from Timmonen to what looked like the eye. He was writhing on the ice in pain, hope he is okay, reminded me of the Berard incident a bit

This probably ends his season.  Terrible, just terrible.

Ouch.  What you don't see in this pic is just how fast that puck was going.

These guys can say whatever they want, but why the remainder of guys who don't wear visors don't do so baffles me.

That was pretty good. Pretty hard to be convincing when you have a bunch of divers on your own team. :)

Hawks win again - 23 games without a regulation loss from the start of the season, and now second best regular season streak overall at 29 games, surpassing the Habs.

One less record in the books for the Habs?  Good. :)

So the Habs celebrated their 20,000th goal twice?

They'll have 3 or 4 ceremonies to celebrate it as well. We should hear the last of it by about this time next year.

When do they celebrate their 10,000th bogus penalty call against to give them a crucial late game power play?

Add the last six games from last season and now they are up to 30 straight regular season games with at least a point. Philly's record of 35 is in reach.

I wonder how long it takes for them to mathematically clinch a playoff spot.

I've got nothing against Chicago's successes this year, but I think it would be hilarious if they lost in the first round.

Officially, it'll still be a while - as of right, it'll take a combination of 31 points gained by the Hawks or lost by two Dallas, St Louis and Minnesota for the Hawks to clinch a spot ahead of the teams currently tied for 8th. Probably another 3 weeks or so, at least.

97 points is the most any team needed to qualify for the playoffs since the lockout. Chicago has 45 now and needs 12 more points to hit the equivalent of 97 pts in a 48 game season.

To get those 12 points, Chicago need to play roughly .260 hockey the rest of the way over their last 23 games. The worst team in the NHL this year is playing .400 hockey. The worst team since the lockout played .341 hockey. After tonight's loss, Chicago is playing .900 hockey so far this season. It's inconceivable that they'd fall below .260 hockey the rest of the way.

Mathematically, Chicago hasn't clinched but they've pretty much locked up a playoff berth after the start they've had.
