But at what cost...

I was hoping he was doing a kid line of Robertson - SDA - Holmberg.
He may go with that at some point but I want him to leave Robertson there for a good run to see if he can play there.

The following 7 LHD are currently injured in the Leafs organization:

Rielly
Brodie
Muzzin
Benn
Mete
Dahlstrom
Kral

That's pretty nuts. It sounds like there's a chance Brodie might be available on Thursday. If not they'll need to play Hollowell and put a righty on the left side, or call-up their last signed left handed defencemen in Mikko Kokkonen.

In a weird way, this feels like the kind of season they "needed". You obviously don't want anyone to be hurt, but the regular season has been so "easy" for a few years now, they're having to find other ways to win and I hope it stands them in good stead for the post season.

I also get flashes of some of the early 2000s playoff series where Sundin or Mogilny or Roberts would miss time and someone else just stepped in with a performance.

If you had "Leafs have the best goalie tandem in the League" before the season started, you win.

We should really give our kudos to this team. They've been pulling it off with a heavily depleted D corps and Alexander Kerfoot.

What?s Marincin up to these days

haha, I actually had that same thought last night when Mete went down.

More likely, hello Lockdown at some point!  :)

I was going to make a joke about Mete getting "hurt" before Brodie comes back to avoid going to the AHL but it sounds like Brodie won't be ready for Thursday.

I watched him playing for Ocleari Trinec in Belfast earlier this season against the Belfast Giants. He was not the 7th DMan 😀

I wonder why Hoefenmayer is not getting more consideration for a call up.

Noel Hoefenmayer  is tied for fifth in points (5-13-18) amongst all defensemen in the league

I?m pretty sure he?s only on an AHL deal

Yup. AHL only deal and no contract slots available for him.

The Leafs are 7-5-6 (.714 PT%). They are 10-0-3 in their last 13 games with their last loss coming on November 12th to Pittsburgh where they lost 4-2 (with an ENG).

New Jersey is 10-1-1 (11-1-1) over that same stretch (the one loss to the Leafs)

Boston is 9-1-1 (11-1-1 in the same 13 games) over that same stretch.

So the Leafs have gained zero points in the standings despite not losing a game in 13 games.
