Kerfoot , overpaid because he's underproducing, TO should get rid of him, right?
OK, so who/what should TO be looking for back if TO could possibly move him, how dum are other GMs?
How about trading for Garland in Vanc., he'd be an upgrade for sure, he's versatile can play LW/RW, scored 52 pts last year so seems like a steal of a deal type of trade for TO, get er done Dubie.
Let's look at what TO would be giving up in this transaction, Kerfoot is very versatile as he has played in all 3 forward spots in the past and he only had 51 points last year, that's one less than Garland but Garland doesn't get to play with Mitch, Austin, etc. so the slight difference is explainable, maybe but I wonder if Garland always plays in the top 6 in Vanc., Kerfoot doesn't, Garland does get to play on the PP Kerfoot doesn't, Garland doesn't PK Kerfoot does. So far I'm not seeing a lot of good reasons for TO to trade for Garland with Kerfoot.
Size must be another issue, Kerfoot is small and plays that way, Kerfoot is 5'10" 185 lbs, Garland is 5'10" 165 lbs, I don't know a whole lot about Garland but I see he has 21 PIMs this year while Kerfoot has 12 PIMs, I don't know why the difference but generally Garland has marginally more PIMs than Kerfoot, is Garland's lack of foot speed partly responsible for this?
Now the killer, Kerfoot has 12 pts in 29 games this year while earning $3.5 mil. per, Garland has 12 points in 27 games while earning $4.95 mil. There has been and still is a great deal of noise from whoever regarding the benefit of TO trading Kerfoot for Garland even tho neither would be a significant upgrade on the other or more likely Kerfoot is the better player, I really don't think a lot of blowhards actually research their positions, they just blow.
Another player that gets a lot of guff from Leaf fans, Engvall, who has 7 points, he never gets to play in the top 6, makes $1.25 mil. per year less than Kerfoot, PKs and lots of other stuff, what everyone knows is that Engvall is 6'5", any player that does what Engvall does and is 5'10" would be considered a bargain at $2.25 mil., forget how tall he is and enjoy what he does do. I'd love to see Engvall in the top 6 except I feel the bottom 6 would be significantly less effective without him like we saw on Saturday.
