He is. They've already put him on waivers.

Colorado's forward group is going to be insane once Nichushkin returns soon and then Landeskog in game 1 of the playoffs.

I liked Henrique, but would have never given up a 1st for him. That's Foligno-like.

I wouldn't want the Leafs to either, but Henrique is posting far better numbers than what Foligno was.

I think the trade (including Carrick) helps round out the forward group for Edmonton just nicely.

That's pretty reasonable for Wennberg, the lack of any 2nd rounders though obviously puts the Leafs in a tricky position here though.

Wennberg was the last pending UFA I had much interest in. I still wouldn't really mind a cheap middle-6 winger add like Tatar, Zucker, Smith, or Duclair but obviously none of them really address the bigger needs of the team right now.

I'd be perfectly content with the team doing little to nothing before the deadline. Big swings at the deadline rarely result in big success. None of the teams that made big moves last year made it out of the 2nd round - and that's not at all an unusual scenario.

Good for him.

He's 20th in the league in ES ice time/game.
His coach likes him in ES situations.
He's getting some PP ice time but also no PK

That is more dough than I thought he would get.
I do not see his talent in the Leafs top 4 though I suspect he'd average fitting in a teams top 4 around the league.
Leafs needed 2 things he isn't: PK & physical

I liked him. I'm happy for him.

One concern I might have is if this deal will affect Liljegren's RFA deal ..
I had not budgeted that high for next season.

Agree with all of this.  If he were right-handed he'd have fit better ? and been our second chance at Anton Stralman.

Love how Veges operates. Always going for it.

They also end up having to give away some pretty decent players for scraps. It?s worked for them, so far, but you can only go down this path for so long.
