It's just getting silly now with the ex-Leafs. They also signed Calvin Pickard.

He?s the guy we traded to get Hyman in the first place!

I'm confused, why didn't they just start negotiations 2 weeks ago like everyone else?

Detroit also going for that middle-of-the-pack look.

Perron at $4.75mil and Kubalik at $2.5mil on 2 year deals are definitely better value than their earlier signings.

Although yeah they especially should be hard-tanking here.

The Perron signing is a head scratcher. He's a good player. I like him a lot. Not sure why Detroit is a fit for the player or the team.

Sign Tony DeAngelo, or put that cap space towards signing a 115-point winger who wanted to play for his hometown team. Who can say which of these options is best.

Binnington and Greiss strike me as two folks who will get along over their shared interests.

I don't really see Rubins as anything more than a 7/8 guy at best, but I was mildly surprised the Leafs didn't qualify him.

I'm sure it wouldn't have been the case for the Leafs, he obviously wanted to stay in Pittsburgh, but would you trade Nylander for ? and give that money to Malkin for 4 years?

No. Just given the injury history and his age? Nylander is the better value.

I didn't really realize Vegas needed the cap space that badly. Too bad they never really got to see that big trio of Pacioretty-Eichel-Stone play together.
