You can eyeball how much league-wide salary cap is remaining and how much of that pie the remaining free agents stand to claim. The teams they want to play for are the ones most hard pressed to pay them handsomely.

Anaheim and Arizona look poised to take on cap dumps to facilitate the big signings and try to reap some assets in return. I'm sure they'd be happy to eat insured LTIR contracts for some good picks. The Jets have swung and missed on basically everyone they've tried on so far and don't have enough for a full roster (trying to offload PLD too).

We quickly entered the post-frenzy lull this offseason, but, at the same time, other than Kadri and Klingberg, there's not a ton of interesting names out there. It's mostly guys at the tail-end of their careers (many of whom are probably contemplating retirement) and depth pieces/role players. A number of them will find homes after arbitration cases get settled, but, I suspect we'll see a lot of players heading to Europe this season, as well as a large number of PTOs - as I suspect a large portion of the teams that still have available spots near the bottoms of their rosters will be hoping that some of their prospects will step up in training camp.
